Add the sweet potato fries in a single layer to the air fryer basket. Some overlap is okay, but don’t crowd the basket. For oven-style air fryers, place the fries on the trays. You do not need to preheat the air fryer.

How to store and reheat
Apparently, there are some people who don’t eat all their fries in one sitting. I’m not one of those people!
Storing Leftovers: Allow the sweet potato fries to fully cool before storing them in an air-tight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
Reheating Leftovers: I much prefer to reheat fries using the air fryer. Cook at 360˚F for 2-3 minutes or until heated through.
You can also reheat the fries in the microwave. Start with 30 seconds, shake, and then add an additional 30 seconds until they are heated to your liking.
Frequently asked questions
There are a few potential reasons as to why your sweet potato fries seem soggy, even after cooking.
Make sure you do not thaw the fries before adding them to the air fryer. Thawing them before cooking will lead to soggy fries.
You may have also put too many fries in the air fryer at once. The air fryer cooks by circulating hot air over the food. If you packed it too full, the air fryer can’t properly cook the food.
A final reason may be cooking the fries at too low of a temperature. I prefer 380˚F; temperatures lower than that will heat up the fries but may not crisp them up.
380˚F/200˚C has been the sweet spot for us in all our years of cooking sweet potato fries in the air fryer.
Trader Joe’s and other popular brands of frozen sweet potato fries will all cook the same. Crinkle cut sweet potato fries may take an additional few minutes.
Frozen sweet potato wedges will need additional cooking time.
