The Homegrown Collective – review

You all know one of our sponsors, The Homegrown Collective, right?

Well, they recently sent me the April box and boy oh boy, it was fab!  It was all about herbs and olive oil, and the cool things that you could do with both.  It made me want to make a huge loaf of french bread and just slather it all over the Priority Mail box.  A little bit about the contents:

In this month’s GREENBOX we include 16 oz. of organic, extra virgin olive oil grown in Northern California. We include all of the fixins to herbally infuse your own olive oil: two quadra bottles, dried basil, chili pods and black peppercorn, cork stopper & pourer. We also included our exclusive Homegrown herb kit including: growing pods, chalk and chalkboard garden markers, heirloom basil, thyme and parsley seeds. And to make your own safe and easy emergency olive oil candle, we have included an 8 oz. Ball jar, wicks and cinnamon stick to scent the oil. OH MY!!!!

  1. How cool. I’ve never tried flavored olive oils, but real olive oil is SO much different than the stuff you can buy at the grocery stores. When I was in Chicago, we went to a restaurant and the bread came with olive oil and parmesan cheese. We could’ve just dined on that. Enjoy that pack of goodies! It looks awesome.

  2. that looks right up my alley!

  3. YUM!!! We went through a bread dipping phase and used up all the olive oil in the house and I used some grapeseed basting oil I had because we needed our fix and it was amazing. I think that you put a little flavor in the oil and I am sold!! These look amazing!

  4. Thanks for turning me onto to The homegrown collective. I’ve enjoyed Kombucha and infused olive oils. By the way I love your blog. I can’t wait to read it. We’ve got the same sense of humor I’m afraid.
