Today’s challenge: face your home version of Custer’s Last Stand.  What task has been staring at you for months, taunting you and judging you for walking by it on a daily basis.

For me, that task that I keep putting off, has been taking care of some seedlings that I started, as well as two bouquets of flowers I picked from the garden.  And then put in our back bedroom and promptly forgot about!  They naturally died, and have been sitting on my deck for MONTHS.  We see it every time we sit down to have dinner.  I see it every time I put stuff in our recycling bin.

Knowing it would only take me five minutes to clean this up, I kept putting it off.  Isn’t it funny how such small tasks can seem overwhelming and get delayed?

  1. Sarah, I just had to stop by and tell you that I made “your” garlic shrimp again tonight for dinner. I loved it so much the first time I made it, I’ve been dreaming about it ever since. Instead of putting them on skewers this time (because I made 2lbs instead of 1 this time!) I used my Pampered Chef grill basket instead, and just grilled them that way. YUM!!!! We’ve already finished dinner, dishes are being washed, and the whole kitchen STILL smells like buttery garlic. I love it!!!

Thanks again for posting this recipe!!

    Have a great weekend!

  2. This is wonderful. Because you are normal. LOL I love it. Because no one can do it all though from some blogs you would think they were. I am working on making jam this weekend. And in order to do that there are things outside that need done that are not getting done. And my kitchen and dining room are a bit messy right now. And they will stay that way because I am taking a break and reading some blogs and then I’ll have some dinner. And in the morning I’ll clean it all up and host a family and friends dinner early afternoon and only until later will I attempt to catch up with yard work but it can’t all be done at once and sometimes to do one thing you have to let another go or go crazy! 🙂

    • Something always has to be put aside, am berries or other jam materials are not things that can wait! Good for you for focusing on priorities; putting up food is a pain in the ass, but worth it in the end.
